In May 2024 we’re excited to have members of our team attending two major industry events – the Geospatial Council of Australia’s Locate24 in Sydney and PIA’s Planning Congress in Melbourne.
We’ll have an exhibition booth at both events, where you can meet experts from our team and learn more about how we can support your work and research. We’ll also be presenting at various sessions across both conferences, with details below!
AURIN at Locate24 (Sydney, 7–9 May)
Wednesday 8 May, 1.15pm
‘Converging paths – digital twin journeys across the nation’
AURIN Director Pascal Perez will chair this session on digital twins, a subject we’re incredibly excited about.
Over the next five-year period AURIN aims to lead a national community, focused on establishing the foundations for Australia’s Urban Digital Twins, to address climate change, energy transition, and changing demographics.
If you’re engaged in these thematic areas, or are working or seeking to work with digital twins, we’d love to have you join the conversation! You can learn more about the Urban Digital Twins Community here.
Thursday 9 May, 1.45pm
‘Plenary: The Future of Geospatial Ecosystems’
This plenary session, during the panel discussion ‘Geospatial Ecosystem beyond SDIs’, includes AURIN Industry Advisory Committee member Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse as moderator and AURIN Scientific Advisory Committee Member Lisa Bush as a panellist.
Exhibition Hall
We’ll also be present throughout the conference at the AURIN booth – if you’re attending, please do say hello to one of our team members!
This is also a great chance to speak with Dr Jiaying Kou, one of our geospatial experts and training support officers, to learn more about our services, current data offerings, and how we might be able to best help you with your research or other projects.

‘A Moment of Change: Housing and Urban Change’
During this breakout session, AURIN Data Science Officer Germán González will present on ‘Forging a Federated Urban Research Infrastructure: Integrating People, Places, Time, and Space’ – sharing his expertise on the challenges and opportunities of federated data.
Exhibition Hall
As with Locate, we’ll be present throughout the Congress at the AURIN booth – with Dr Jiaying Kou, geospatial expert and training support officer, available to discuss our current data offerings and services. Please say hi to Jiaying or any other members our team, as we’d love to hear about your work and how we might be able to assist!
