We are pleased to welcome Pronab Pal as AURIN’s new Senior Cloud Engineer. Pronab is leading the Australian Transport Research Cloud (ATRC) project, a collaboration between Australian researchers, planners, and policymakers to deliver data and tools to accelerate transport research and impacts across Australia.
“I am super excited to join AURIN to lead the ATRC project. This project allows me to bring together several of my software development skills and work with a team of bright people who make building such a platform possible. I look forward to using the latest technology to deliver data and tools to researchers and policymakers in the transport sector in Australia,” Pronab says.
Pronab started his career in information and computer science in the pre-internet age at the Indian Institute of Science in the School of Automation where he completed a Masters of Engineering in the 80s. Since then he has worked as a software developer consultant with corporations around the world including Air India, Nokia Helsinki, and Commonwealth Bank. He has worked on a full range of platforms and languages from mobile, microcomputers, mini-computers, mainframes, and the cloud while also helping several start-ups cope with new technology challenges.
