AURIN is delighted to welcome Dr Aiden Price as an Environmental Health Domain Specialist. He brings with him years of experience in data science, including work on spatial child health development modelling, understanding the impact of natural disasters on access to key services, and developing environmental health vulnerability indices across Australia as part of the Australian Environmental Health (AusEnHealth) platform.
In addition to his work with AURIN, Aiden is currently Centre Chief Investigator and ECR Co-lead of the Government Systems Domain at QUT’s Centre for Data Science, and holds a post-doctoral position within the Healthy Environments and Lives (HEAL) network’s Data and Decision Support Systems (DDSS) theme. He holds a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics from QUT.
“I’m passionate about improving the speed at which Australians can gain insight from environmental health data, which I hope to achieve by developing smarter ways to digest information and by helping to overcome barriers to data access, particularly surrounding health data. Since my passion naturally aligns with AURIN, I’m excited to lend my skills and knowledge to the team here while learning more about how other groups work with data, metadata, and data custodians,” Aiden says.
We look forward to working with Aiden on the AusUrb-HI project and AusEnHealth, as well as his initiatives through the HEAL network.
