AURIN and the Logan Project

Griffith University, Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) and the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) are working together to implement and host a Regional Data Service for the Logan area. The Service will provide a mix of demographic and health regional data service for the Logan region,  with the aim of support the needs of the community as it grows and changes rapidly over the next several years. The first of the datasets identified for release through the joint service is Australian Early Development Census between 2009 and 2015 (pictured below).  These data – when combined with the next datasets focusing on population, health, and crime data – will be used by researchers and planners to improve liveability for people in the communities of Logan. An important element of the project, will be in making the data accessible and relevant to local needs through the Logan Together initiative, demonstrating the power of data integration and enabling scalability of the service over space and time.
