AURIN is delighted to share that our members of the Australian Urban Health Indicators (AusUrb-HI) project team – Dr Moein Mehrolhassani, Dr Hao Chen, Flavia Barar and Dr Aiden Price – recently received the Award for Excellence in Innovation and Impact, one of the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning staff excellence awards.
These excellence awards recognise and celebrate the contributions of staff within the Faculty, and we’re excited to see Moein, Hao, Flavia and Aiden being recognised for their work – which has involved pioneering the use of fine-grained spatial data, including SA1-level linked health and built environment data, addressing significant ethical and logistical questions, and collaborating with experts across multiple Australian states.
Their efforts have attracted wide interest from researchers and government, with the health indicators they have developed supporting professionals and policymakers in developing targeted strategies to reduce inequities in health services, living environments, and urban resilience.
We’d like to congratulate the team once once again on their success!
