Industry Advisory Committee
AURIN’s Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) brings together leaders across the geospatial industry. The IAC will advise AURIN on strategic priorities and opportunities that will lead to high-value outcomes for industry stakeholders, including new jobs in the private sector, opening up new opportunities for products and services, and supporting the development of Australia’s economy more generally. Members of the IAC bring with them a wide range of experiences, providing a broad view of the sector and a deep understanding of AURIN’s stakeholders and unique position.
Kylie Hargreaves

Kylie Hargreaves is an experienced diplomat, policy maker, non-executive Director and private consultant with a track record for solving difficult challenges.
She is the Chair of the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity, Deputy Chair of Regional Development Australia Sydney, Chief Sustainability Officer at National Intermodal, Senior Advisor at North Harbour Clean Energy and member of the Expert Panel for the NSW Government’s Small Business Innovation & Research Program.
Zaffar Mohamed-Ghouse

Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse HonFGCA FRGS FIEAust is recognised globally for his leadership in the spatial and space sector. Zaffar is currently the Director of Geospatial Advisory & Innovation at Woolpert, based in Melbourne, and has held senior and executive roles across the private sector, research and government in Australia and India.
He has academic appointments at University of Melbourne as Hon. Principal Fellow, Australia and appointment as Professor at Anna University and National Institute of Advanced Studies in India. He is Chair of the United Nations-Global Geospatial Information Management Private Sector Network and Board Director of the Open Geospatial Consortium.
Michele Adair

Michele Adair is the Chair of Homes Tasmania, a statutory authority tasked with guiding the state’s housing system and delivering an additional 10,000 social and affordable homes by 2032, and CEO of Housing Trust which builds and manages affordable rental housing for people on very low to moderate incomes in regional NSW.
She is a respected policy and housing advocate receiving the UDIA National Women in Leadership Award for Excellence and named by the AFR as one of the 5 most powerful people in property in 2023.
Helen Bell

Helen Bell is Research Manager at World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), as well as Senior Manager, Research, for the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
In both roles, she combines her research experience with her passion for working towards a sustainable environment. For GBCA she has led research into social value, providing a critical link between industry, academia, government and the GBCA.
Iain Russell

Iain Russell is Industry CTO Enterprise & Government (National Markets & Biz Dev) at Telstra, as well as a board member of Australian Integrated Multimodal Ecosystem (AIMES).
Iain has over 19 years of experience in the ICT industry working on strategic growth and transformation initiatives with customers in consumer, enterprise and government segments across multiple functions (engineering, strategy, products, sales/BDM), product domains, industry sectors, technologies and emerging markets.
Julian Szafraniec

Julian is a Principal and Partner at SGS Economics and Planning and the National Leader of Data and Spatial Analysis.
As an economist, Julian advocates for data-driven policy development to support efficient and sustainable communities and places. Julian’s expertise has been instrumental in advising all tiers of government and the private sector, contributing to informed policy-making and investment strategies spanning housing, transportation, social infrastructure, and the broader economy.
Patrick Hastings

Patrick Hastings is Acting CEO of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council.
He has worked across a variety of roles throughout Australia and internationally, with broad practical expertise in communications, community relations, social performance, Indigenous affairs, Government relations, crisis and issues management, project management, land access and organisational change.
Hermione Parsons

Dr Hermione Parsons is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Australian Logistics Council.
Previously she founded and led an acclaimed university research and development Centre across two universities, and has led many ASEAN and APEC programs focusing on end-to-end supply chain issues. She is also the Co-founder and Co-chair of the industry funded Wayfinder: Supply Chain Careers for Women initiative. Dr Parsons is a Non-Executive Director of the Melbourne Market Authority.
