Australian Business Register restricted data set application

Registered business information is stored in the ABR as public and non-public information. Only eligible government agencies can apply for access to non-public data.

The data can be used for many purposes, including: Service delivery, disaster response and recovery, procurement, planning and economic development, compliance activities.

Government agencies must be eligible and have a current ABR Terms and Conditions in place to access non-public ABR data.

In line with the ABR terms and conditions agreed to by your agency:

  • ABR information can only be used by agency staff and/or authorised third parties for the purposes of carrying out functions of your agency.
  • When storing ABR information you must protect it in accordance with relevant privacy legislation or guidelines.
  • Where any breach of the terms and conditions, unintentional or otherwise, has been identified, the ABR must be advised as soon as possible via email or on 1300 139 025

You must also agree to:

  • Advise us if you no longer are eligible to access the ABR Restricted Data set (i.e. are leaving the government agency)

  • The information provided on this form will be provided to the ABR and used to assess to the restricted ABR data set.
  • Access and use of restricted ABR data set in AURIN will be provided to the ABR for statistical reporting and monitoring of use.
