AURIN CITATION GUIDE

How to cite AURIN and AURIN data in your research

If you use the AURIN  workbench in your research, it is important to let reviewers and readers know that you either sourced data or used tools from the project. This allows us to more accurately understand our impact in research, as well as potentially showcase your research. Additionally, even our most permissive licence (CC-BY) requires you at the very least to cite the dataset in any publication you produce.

Citing AURIN Data:

If you used data that you obtained via either the AURIN API or the AURIN Portal, you will need to cite both the dataset, and the AURIN workbench.  Each dataset has a unique citation which can be downloaded directly from the AURIN Portal, or from that dataset’s record in our metadata catalogueOnce you have these records, our preferred citation for AURIN is:

[These datasets/This data was/were] obtained via the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) Portal (Sinnott et al., 2014)

With the full citation:

Richard O. Sinnott, Christopher Bayliss, Andrew Bromage, Gerson Galang, Guido Grazioli Philip Greenwood, Angus Macaulay, Luca Morandini, Ghazal Nogoorani, Marcos Nino-Ruiz, Martin Tomko, Christopher Pettit, Muhammad Sarwar, Robert Stimson, William Voorsluys and Ivo Widjaja. 2014. The Australian Urban Research Gateway. Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 27(2), 358-375. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1002/cpe.3282

Citing AURIN Tools:

If you used one of the many analytical tools in the AURIN portal, our preferred citation is:

This analysis was undertaken using the [Name of Tool] tool, implemented in the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) Portal (Sinnott, et al., 2014)

Sinnott, Christopher Bayliss, Andrew Bromage, Gerson Galang, Guido Grazioli Philip Greenwood, Angus Macaulay, Luca Morandini, Ghazal Nogoorani, Marcos Nino-Ruiz, Martin Tomko, Christopher Pettit, Muhammad Sarwar, Robert Stimson, William Voorsluys and Ivo Widjaja. 2014.
