Event Details

We will be exhibiting at the Locate Conference in 2020 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The theme of this Locate will be Convergence, Collaboration and Community – Towards a Stronger Economy – looking across industry sectors on how Geospatial and Location technologies and practices are being used, highlighting the fundamental role they play in the building of our digital economy.

Locate20 delegates can also explore the convergence of the spatial industry and the influence and importance of our industry to broader, non-traditional, industries and the Australian economy. Spatial data and location services now underpin many activities driving us to explore collaborative partnerships with businesses in other sectors, working together to produce a greater whole and to recognize new ways of doing things.

AURIN is also offering a workshop AURIN Workbench – Data Driven Decision Support for Planners and Researchers for registered delegates of the conference. During this workshop you will learn how to access and explore data and assess its suitability for your research. We will learn how the AURIN Workbench tools (Map, Portal, API) can help you access and analyse your data and to create intelligent maps to mould your information into sharable knowledge that supports your decision making.  Discussion on data needs for areas of national priority will also be explored. Learn new skills, access free data and tools, troubleshoot your research data needs and contribute to Australia’s largest spatial data network.

The target audience for this workshop will be curious minds from any discipline considering a spatial (mapping) element to their research and decision making will benefit from taking part. Any researchers who are struggling to find and use data for the spatial part of their research. Government/academic/industry all welcome.

Please note that our Portal is for academic and government use only, no commercial use is allowed. Workshop  participants from commercial organisations will be granted access to the AURIN Portal for the duration of the workshop to learn analysis skills and after taking part, can access our data through our API.

Registrations now open! Click here for registration.
