Dr Jack Barton presented the keynote address to the Fifth Open Source GIS Conference – OSGIS 2014 giving an overview and some technical insights of AURIN to the international geospatial community. The conference spanned two days from the 2nd to the 3rd of September at the Nottingham Geospatial Institute, University of Nottingham.
In a panel session Jack reported on AURIN’s involvement with the Research Data Alliance (RDA) Working Group on ISO 37120:2014: Sustainable development of communities – Indicators for city services and quality of life.
Following this, we ran an intensive AURIN workshop that was well attended by a very enthusiastic international group of participants – much of the feedback we received indicated AURIN was delivering a clear example of an Internationally pioneering Spatial Data Infrastructure.
